This Conference was jointly organised by the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) and the International Center for Islam and Pluralism (ICIP), and was supported by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Several prominent scholars, politicians and activists participated in the event. As well as providing a platform for stimulating discussion on topical issues, the Conference worked toward producing substantive outcomes.
