“Three Malaysian churches attacked in ‘Allah’ dispute” Print
Jakarta Post, Fri 8 Jan 2010, World

This article from the Associated Press reports on the firebombings and attacks on churches in Kuala Lumpur in the wake of a High Court decision to remove a ban on the use of the term ‘Allah’ in the Malay-language edition of a publication read mostly by indigenous Christian tribes in Sabah and Sarawak. ‘Allah’, the article reports, is an Arabic word that predates Islam and is used by Christians in several Muslim-majority countries, but the Malaysian government believes that in Malaysia this will tempt Muslims to convert to Christianity.
